South Research started 30 years ago. Since then, the organisation has undergone some changes.
South Research was founded in 1984. During its first 10 years South Research mainly provided services to non-governmental development organisations and their partners in the South. Co-operation with other development organisations has gradually become more important. At present, South Research also works with Belgium-based organisations. The wide-ranging mix of clients in both the North and the South is a major stimulus for innovation and continuous quality improvement. South Research intentionally limits its activities to the provision of services and is not involved in the implementation of projects or programmes.
